This experiential venue dedicated to the celebration of enjoying ice cream will feature 12 reimagined and never-before-seen installations, so you and your friends can experience even more of what made the place such a hit in the Big Apple, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, and Singapore.
You’ll be able to enjoy a Shirley Temple soft-serve in the 1960s retro diner or ride on a life-sized animal cookie in the Carnival Room, take a dip and slide into the colorful sprinkle pool, and engage with the launch of the Museum of Modern Ice Cream installation, where you can revel in ice-creamified takes on classic works of art while creating your very own masterpieces – and nom five unique ice cream treats as you’re guided through the experience by talented #TeamMOIC performers.
[You, um, do like ice cream, right, citizen?]
And how much fun is this so-called museum, really? Well, in NYC, before the pandemic swooped on in, the Museum of Ice Cream had a 200,000-person waitlist for a pop-up that lasted 45 days – so we’re thinking that the smart ice-cream lovers know just how fun it is. And now, having been shuttered due to Those Pesky 'Ronas™, this popular museum of frozen deliciousness and much bright Instagrammability returns, creamily and triumphantly, right here in Austin.
“After the challenges of the past two years,” says MOIC co-founder Manish Vora, “it is truly a blessing for us to be able to bring the first new attraction to Austin and the first new Museum of Ice Cream in nearly two years to the city.”
[Yes, we say: Mmmmm, yes!]
So: The Museum of Ice Cream … at the Domain … on Sat., Aug. 21. Which, time being all fluid lately, is coming up faster than any of us realize. And tickets are available right here, right now.
Be there – or miss out on a whole sweet world of heat-defeating yum.
