Coronavirus Impacts in Austin

The Austin Chronicle Show on KOOP FM talks COVID-19

Our weekly half-hour show on KOOP 91.7 FM is devoted to – what else? – the novel coronavirus.

News editor Mike Clark-Madison hosts the show this week and is joined by health reporter Margaret Nicklas and staff writer Kevin Curtin to discuss this fast-moving story. How fast? Between the time they taped the show on Thursday and it aired today on KOOP, more major cancellations like Rodeo Austin were announced, schools have gotten a jump on spring break with early shutdowns, cases of COVID-19 in the Austin area have been confirmed, the governor has declared a statewide public health disaster, and the president has declared a national emergency.

You can track all the latest news and cancellations and postponements on the Chronicle's COVID-19 coverage page.
