    Art From the Streets Show & Sale

    Homeless and at-risk artists create at Art From the Streets' open studio four days a week, culminating in thousands of artworks to display and sell at this show, with many artists in attendance and 95% of sales going directly to the artists.

    2021 Texas Book Festival

    A bibliophile's dream come true, the Texas Book Festival is now a hybrid nine-day event, with plenty of virtual programming and two days of in-person activities. Oct. 23-24 includes children's programming and the Texas Teen Book Festival; Oct. 25-31 features adult fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and cooking. Visit Symphony Square Oct. 30 for Lit Crawl and children's picture book authors, and find adult programming Oct. 31 at Central Library. Get more details online, and go wild – it's all free!

    French Legation Community Grand Reopening

    Experience over 180 years of history through one of Austin’s oldest wood-frame structures. Learn about the French influence during the early Republic era, the involvement of the Catholic Church, and the Roberston family who called the Legation home for almost a century. Enjoy activities throughout the day and purchase gifts or enjoy a beverage at the soon-to-be-opening Cafe Legation.

    Jo's Coffee Fourth Annual Ugly Dog Contest

    Things are about to get ugly in an adorable way. Submit pics online of your adorabugly doggo, and voting takes place all week at Jo's Coffee Downtown and on Red River. See the finalists strut their stuff on Sunday at 12:30, and winners will be announced at 1pm. Submission and voting fees go to the Austin Humane Society.
    Voting: Oct. 24-30; finalist face-off: Oct. 31, 12:30pm. $10.

    Viva la Vida Fest

    Check out a multitude of online offerings to celebrate Day of the Dead, including recipes, virtual exhibits, activity guides, and more.
